Overview:

Authenus Staffing is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will have a solid educational background in accounting, complemented by practical experience and, ideally, exposure to governmental accounting practices. Responsibilities:

1. General Accounting:
   • Perform day-to-day accounting activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
   • Ensure accuracy and completeness in financial transactions.
2. Financial Reporting:
   • Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
   • Generate financial reports and provide insights to support decision-making.
3. Compliance:
   • Stay informed about accounting regulations and ensure compliance in financial operations.
   • Assist in the implementation of internal controls to safeguard company assets.
4. Governmental Accounting (Preferred):
   • Utilize knowledge of governmental accounting principles, if applicable.
   • Support any specialized reporting or compliance requirements related to governmental accounting.
5. Budget Support:
   • Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets.
   • Collaborate with team members to ensure alignment with financial goals.
6. Audit Assistance:
   • Support internal and external audit processes.
   • Provide necessary documentation and explanations to auditors.

Qualifications:

• Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited college or university.
  • CPA or CGFO Certification.
• Experience:
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in accounting.
  • Experience in governmental accounting is preferred.
• Skills:
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge:
  • Familiarity with GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
  • Understanding of governmental accounting practices (if applicable).
• Communication:
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
