Overview:
Authenus Staffing is currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounting Budget Analyst to join our client’s finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a solid educational background, coupled with practical experience in professional accounting and budgeting, preferably within a Governmental or similar institutional setting. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a keen understanding of municipal budgeting and finance principles to contribute to the financial success of our client.
Responsibilities:
- Budget Preparation:
- Collaborate with various departments to gather budgetary requirements.
- Assist in the preparation, analysis, and presentation of annual budgets.
- Financial Analysis:
- Conduct detailed financial analysis to support budgetary decisions.
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve budget performance.
- Forecasting:
- Assist in the development and maintenance of financial forecasts.
- Monitor actual performance against forecasts and report on variances.
- Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to governing laws, codes, and regulations in all budgetary activities.
- Stay updated on changes in regulations that may impact budgeting and finance.
- Reporting:
- Generate regular financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide explanations for budget variances and highlight key financial metrics.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with different departments to understand their financial needs.
- Provide financial guidance and support to facilitate effective decision-making.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Two (2) or more years of progressively responsible experience in professional accounting and budgeting.
- Experience in Governmental or similar institutional environments is preferred.
- Knowledge:
- General knowledge of the principles, methods, and practices of municipal budgeting and finance.
- Familiarity with applicable governing laws, codes, and regulations.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in financial analysis tools and Microsoft Excel.
- Communication:
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
