Accounting Clerk

Overview:

Authenus Staffing is currently seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our client’s finance team as an Accounting Clerk. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity for those with a keen interest in accounting to kickstart their career in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Accounts Payable:
    • Process vendor invoices and ensure accurate coding.
    • Prepare and process payments, including checks and electronic transfers.
    • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
  2. Accounts Receivable:
    • Generate and issue customer invoices.
    • Monitor and follow up on overdue accounts.
    • Post and allocate payments to customer accounts.
  3. General Ledger Maintenance:
    • Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date general ledger entries.
    • Reconcile bank statements and other financial records.
  4. Data Entry and Record Keeping:
    • Enter financial transactions into the accounting system.
    • Maintain organized and comprehensive financial records.
  5. Assist in Audits:
    • Provide support during internal and external audits.
    • Prepare necessary documentation and respond to auditor inquiries.
  6. Financial Reporting:
    • Generate basic financial reports as required.
    • Assist in the preparation of routine financial statements.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Some college coursework in accounting or related field is a plus.
  • Experience:
    • Prior experience in an accounting or finance role is preferred but not required.
  • Skills:
    • Basic understanding of accounting principles.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Communication:
    • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team Player:
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
