Authenus Staffing is currently seeking a highly qualified and experienced Senior Accountant to join our client’s dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background, relevant certifications, and a proven track record in accounting, with a focus on governmental accounting. Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:

• Prepare and analyze financial statements in compliance with GAAP and other relevant standards.
  Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial information.
  Governmental Accounting:
• Apply expertise in governmental accounting principles to manage and oversee financial transactions.
  Stay updated on laws, ordinances, and regulations governing municipal financial matters.
  Compliance and Regulations:
• Ensure compliance with accounting regulations and reporting requirements.
  Stay informed about changes in accounting standards and assess their impact on financial reporting.
  Budget Management:
• Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets, providing insights and recommendations.
  Collaborate with relevant departments to ensure budgetary compliance.
  Audit Support:
• Facilitate and support internal and external audits.
  Provide necessary documentation and explanations during audit processes.

Qualifications:
Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited college or university.
  CPA or CGFO Certification.

Experience:

• Minimum of five (5) years of progressive accounting experience.
  Proven experience in governmental accounting is highly preferred.

Knowledge:

• Considerable knowledge of accounting theory, principles, methods, and practices.
  Familiarity with laws, ordinances, and regulations governing municipal financial matters.

Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficient in relevant accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
